As winter approaches, our hearts turn to the children in orphanages who may face the cold without proper heating. This winter feels more uncertain than ever. Over the summer, Russia has been systematically attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, including gas facilities essential for heating. According to some reports, up to 80% of gas storage capacity has been destroyed. Ongoing strikes on the power grid may also leave many Ukrainians without stable electricity or heat in the coming months. To help protect the children in the Znamianka orphanage, we’ve joined forces with the orphanage director to provide each of the 139 childrenwith a warm fleece tracksuit. These suits have zippers to make them easy to put on and take off — especially important for children who are bedridden. The cost of one suit is $30, and our goal is to raise $30*139=$4,170 to keep every child warm this winter.
