While this beloved tale isn’t as widely known in Ukraine as it is in the USA, those familiar with it cherish it deeply. That, along with the profound meanings and allegories woven into C.S. Lewis’s work, made The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe the perfect choice for this year’s Christmas performance.

The first performance was held at the school for students and their parents. Although the Gospel message isn’t explicitly mentioned in the story, the students quickly grasped the Gospel truths embedded in the plot. We also performed the play twice at the church, inviting everyone who wished to attend, especially the children affected by war and their families. The response was overwhelming—so many children came that we didn’t have enough seats for everyone!

It was incredibly moving to see children who have experienced the hardships of war captivated by the story’s message of hope and redemption. The children of Idea School and Almaz Church embraced their roles as true actors, while guests witnessed one of the most profound allegorical retellings of Christ’s sacrifice. A story that proclaims the victory of good over evil and offers redemption to all who accept it.
